"The growing phenomenon of Internet"

A Canadian TV news report, apparently from the early '90s (via Matthew Yglesias):



The main guy who's interviewed is surprisingly perceptive/prescient about online human behavior, considering how long ago this aired.

It made me wonder when people stopped saying Internet and started saying the Internet. Then, I got my answer: at 5:58 in this very video!

For us today, the video combines sweet nostalgia, the glow of dreams fulfilled, and the adventure of continuing evolution -- past, present, and future all realized simultaneously.
