I've added a widget in the sidebar that lets you "follow" this blog with "Google Friend Connect."
To my surprise, I already had 3 followers before I added the widget.
I'm still not sure I see the point of this. But I'll see what happens.

Well, what I've just noticed is that you're now a "follower" of my blog. I didn't even notice one could "follow" my blog, but there I go. No widget, though.
Yeah, it seems like you can follow any blog. It certainly doesn't need to have the widget, and it doesn't even need to be a Blogger (Google) blog.
One good thing about this is that a feed of the blogs I follow shows up in my Blogger dashboard (the place you go to edit the blog). That's hardly ground-breaking: it's similar to Google Reader. But I expect to notice these feeds more often since I'll automatically see them anytime I'm editing the blog, whereas I usually don't think to check Google Reader.
After reading this, I also started using the same feature. However, I now have a person with an avatar showing their bare butt on my page. It's not a big butt, so I wont complain, but whenever I see it, you know who I'm going to be thinking about!
