You'd think this would be incredibly boring . . .

. . . but it's actually pretty interesting and funny: a weekly call-in podcast where a guy reads a dictionary (via). It's called My DictionAric, with Aric McKeown.

Here's the first episode. He's apparently using a dictionary from the 1930s. He reads from the dictionary until someone calls in, at which point they can talk about anything.

How long do I have to listen to drums before it starts?!

Oh, it started, but the drums still won't shut up.

I'm not able to call in and say shut up the drums, because *it's a podcast.*

The whole time I was listening I kept hoping he'd stick to reading the dictionary and stop trying to add cute digressions.

I like the digressions.

I agree the drums at the beginning are excessive.

I was surprised he got to the "ab"s without any "aa"s. Were aardvarks unknown back in the 1930s?
