Media gimmicks I'd like to see banned

1. Beginning an article: "Unless you've been living under a rock . . ."

2. Depicting a weight-loss success story with a photo of someone holding up their old pants. Flattening out a pair of pants -- eliminating the front-to-back dimension and transferring it to the left-to-right dimension -- is going to exaggerate the width of any waistline.
