I never stopped feeling good about America. I'm sorry to hear that you did.

Never? Wow, what would it take?

Maybe if we were to abuse random Iraqis who aren't even our enemies --- wait, no, that's already happened. How about if one of our greatest cities were demolished and we failed to adequately help -- ah, nope, that happened too.

If none of this is enough, what would be bad enough to warrant feeling bad about the country, even for a moment?

I can feel bad about some of the policies without feeling bad about the country as a whole. You said feel good "about America." One man, right or wrong, will not and cannot change my feelings on this great nation.

What would be bad enough? If the country stopped standing for the freedom and opportunity that have given me and my family so much, that let me express myself in forums like this, that let me believe that I can be what I want and accomplish my dreams on my own merits. That is when I would feel bad about America.

Wow, that's kind of a treasonous statement, to say that you've always hated America....but only now do you feel good.

I know I've ALWAYS loved my Country, even if I've hated the person running it.

1. I never said I've ever "hated" America.

2. I never said I've "always" felt the same way about America.

3. How could it be treason in America just to make a political statement? Isn't treason a crime, and aren't political statements protected by the 1st Amendment?

Um, how bout Gays being stripped of their rights, and a President Elect who shows no empathy whatsoever and, in fact, has absolutely nothing to say on the matter.

Hard to feel proud in that scenario.

But, as long as you're happy, Jac, I guess that's all that matters.
