John McWhorter and Glenn Loury debate: Has Obama been a "failure"?

I'm planning on doing a post listing the main ways I've found Obama disappointing as president.

What do you think? How has he disappointed you? Or has he actually done a "good job"? Feel free to put any thoughts in the comments (not necessarily about the same issues McWhorter and Loury talk about).

He was an out of touch elitist candidate for president - price of arugula, "clinging." Also, he had an extraordinarily thin résumé.

So Barack Obama has exceeded my extremely low expectations largely by not surrendering in Iraq and Afghanistan and by not completely socializing medicine.

Now there's a word I didn't expect to show up in the comments: arugula...

Heh. Okay, I'll be completely serious. Jobs. Two years ago, Obama was campaigning on stimulating the economy. One month after taking office, Congress passed his stimulus plan. This year, the unemployment rate went as high as 10.6%. If, in the next two years, the rate falls below 7%, Obama will no longer be a "failure."
